Cloud workflow to unset Records Managment Event Date

I am working on a workflow to unset certain event dates. The client would like to edit their documents until disposition. Since the record is at the folder level when the event date is set, the record is closed and the client can't edit their records. Is there a way to unset multiple records at a time via a workflow? 

 

Below is the workflow I thought would work but the Set Records Management Properties activity will not let me clear the date by entering a blank date. (Similar to how you would clear metadata field on a template)

 

This is the error I received when trying to publish the workflow. 

 

Anyone have any suggestions; I would hate to manually unset 3K records.

I found that if you have two set event date activities and in the first set event date, add a different event then what is supposed to be on the record. Then for the second set event add the original event back to the record. The event date will be cleared and will have the correct event set.
