Question

Group Watermarks for PDFs

asked on August 27, 2024

Hello,

I am attempting to add a group watermark for documents that are exported, showing they are not the original (copy).  However, it is not working.  Is this because the documents are PDFs?  If this is the case, is there a way to add this watermark (or stamp) to documents exported?  Thank you in advance for your insight!

Watermarks and Stamps can only be applied to images. You could generate pages for electronic documents and then export them with the watermark. There are third party libraries also that could be used with custom scripts to apply watermarks to electronic files.

I know within the past couple of years Laserfiche has mentioned that they plan on creating better tools to work with electronic files, specifically PDFs. I don't know if that is still the plan or not though.

I have created a YouTube video on Audit Trail that includes instructions for configuring watermarks in case you need a guide: Configuring Laserfiche Audit Trail 11 - YouTube

Hi Emilee, I use Tags to print a watermark on printout copies.

On the other hand if you want a watermark on the actual PDF then you can use a Full version of Adobe Acrobat click on Tools>Edit>click on the Watermark option>Add.
