Question

Editing Form Variables

asked on August 21, 2024

We recently upgraded to Forms 11 (version 11.0.2311.50564) and were looking forward to editing variables when forms are suspended at the Save to Repository step because the user entered a bad field value.  However, it doesn't appear to be working for us.  We edit the variable by correcting it or removing it (only if it isn't a required field).  We can see it's been changed, but nothing happens.  We try using Retry, but it comes back saying the field still has a bad value.  Are we missing a step in the process?

Check your Save to Repository settings. If you have it set to save a particular step/submission, then I believe it defaults to pulling the values as they were at the time of submission.

You may just need to change it to use "current process data"

Thanks, Jason.  It worked even on a form that was already suspended.  I changed the Save to Repository setting after the Save to Repository step was suspended, edited the variable and it worked when I ran Retry on it.  Appreciate your assistance.
