Question

Laserfiche Cloud - ContentGeneration

asked on August 12, 2024

I have a client, and we are importing several documents. Some of their Tiff documents are experiencing some process performed by ContentGeneration overnight after the original import process was completed. This process seems to be updating the text of the file and usually makes it better but not always. Can someone please tell me what process is running, and how to stop the version from being created since this is not a real user?

@████████ Thank you for that information. If there a way to merge all the versions? You stated it is for "any image pages that do not already have a corresponding text page." After it ran the first time wouldn't the specific document have a text page? Why would it run again let alone multiple time to create about 20 versions?

This is the background OCR process that will generate text for any image pages that do not already have a corresponding text page. There is currently no way to turn off background OCR.

There is no way to merge versions.

OCR is done in groups of pages, so it is expected that a document may have a few rounds of modifications done to it. I can't tell from your screenshot if what you're seeing is normal or something went wrong. We would need a support case for further investigation.
