How To Create Link to A Document In Laserfiche Cloud

asked on August 3, 2024

Hello All,

Please can anyone help with this.

I have a workflow that routes an entry to a folder and the sends an email to a User notifying him that a new document has just been forwarded to him. All these works. Where I am stuck is that i want to create a link that opens the routed document on web client.

I have done this in Laserfiche On Prem  but don't seem to have the Activity Tool to do this in cloud.?

Please can anyone help.

Thanks

Use the find entry workflow activity, it has a generate links option.

Thanks Tony for the quick response. I discovered this while reading about Find Entry tool. But i have another challenge, if you can help.

I created a workflow that routes documents to specific user folder. Now I added a find entry activity and  configured it and used the tokens generated in the next tool Email. I configured the email to send notification to owner of folder about the document forwarded.

The challenge is that before placing the Find Entry Activity after Move entry, the notification goes. But after I added the Find Entry Activity Tool, the mail doesnt get sent. But the workflow still runs.

See the picture

Also, i configured the Find Entry tool Entry To find section in at and used OutputEntry_FullPath token so that the Find Entry Activity will always find Documents forwarded to the path specified.

Did i configure all this wrongly?

Thanks, Tony for this. However, when I tried this the only option that worked was the (FindEntry_OutputEntry_WebAccessUrl) and it only opened the folder where the document was and not the document itself

Hello,

How is your find entry configured?

I suspect that you are using the bottom option which points to a specific folder VS a entry.

Then in your email workflow activity make sure you are using this token:

I hope that helps.

Yes, i chose find entry in the folder, so if I change find entry to using entry id, then it will generate the link to the document directly rather than the folder?

Yes that is correct.
