The configuration for sharing a routing service between 2 forms servers required many many alterations to configuration files all throughout the program files folders over both systems. Is this safe for upgrade paths in the future? Will these manual config changes be retained throughout future upgrades?

Hi Chad,
Yes, Forms update will not change your existing settings in the config files, otherwise we can foresee many complaints in Answers site. But if you do find some setting reverted, please report to us ASAP.

Thank you, we didn't see it happen but I just deployed one and we don't often edit code files directly, there was about 5 files modified in notepad so wanted to make sure the upgrade wizards would not replace the files.

I think it's because Forms will try to insert some new settings to the config files along with the upgrade, depending on the version you upgrade from and to. But it's for sure that we won't edit your existing settings.
