Custom Forms Report and Sub Processes

asked on July 31, 2024

Hello,

I'm trying to create status reports for my process using custom reports that uses the system variables current step name, current stage name and assigned to. The issue is that if you have sub processes in your forms process, these system variables show as "Multiple Steps" and its kind of confusing and inconvenient for end users. I would rather not show the sub process or display it separately if possible.

Does anybody have a good way or work around for this? I tried making a custom current step name variable that copies the variable from a custom html field, but that will only get you the last submission step name since the form for that step would need to be saved first.

Thank you!

Hi Alex,

I have experienced similar issues to show form status updates.  I use workflow to create a unique form status and add this to a table in SQL.  Each time the form moves to another step it runs through workflow to update the status.  I use a second form to act as a dashboard to show the form status and any additional information an end user would like to see.  You can also use parameters in a stored procedure to show only certain forms based on the supervisor accessing the dashboard or other variables you may want them to choose to narrow down what is viewed.  While there is more setup involved in this, it also allows non named users to keep tabs on form statuses since the Custom Reports area requires a Named User License.
