Question

Is there a way to force a Workflow to continue if it's stuck in a Delay activity?

asked on July 24, 2024

I accidentally left the default of "1 day" in the Delay activity I added to a workflow. There's one WF entry that is currently stuck in the Delay activity.  Is there a way to force it to continue? I already changed the activity to 1 minute and published the new version...it prompted me that there was an instance in process and asked if I wanted to apply changes to that instance; I said 'yes' but it didn't affect the Delay.

No, there is no way to end a timer early or modify an actively running activity, in general.

Updating instances when a new version is published updates activities after the currently running one(s). So after the Delay activity ends, the workflow would follow the new definition.
