Question

Revise a form process

asked on July 23, 2024

Hello, I'm looking for advice/opinion on how to approach this update. We have an existing process with one form. The planned revision is to expand the process and and add another form. Can the process and form be copied/paste to another process so I can make the revisions on the copy and keep live the existing process/form? Is this a possible approach/good approach? Does anyone have suggestion(s) of options I'm missing?

thank you

Lucinda

The best way forward would be to have two isolated environments so you could edit the actual process and promote it to production when it is ready and tested.

If you only have a production environment you should definitely NOT edit the process directly. This is detailed further in this link https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/156451/Forms-overwrite-from-the-same-server#156458

On the Business Process - Manage page, click the checkbox beside the process you are wanting to copy and in the top right, click Copy (icon of two pages). Then you can rework your process behind the scenes on the copied version, without risking making any changes to your current process. (Hopefully that makes sense!)

Hello Zachary,

thank you for your feedback, we only have a production environment. Copy process is that an option? If so, would copy process include the existing form?

thank you
