Windows Client - Copying text off image

asked on July 22, 2024 Show version history

Hello,

I have a customer with something that's probably a quick fix but I can't figure it out. Some users open a document with text generated in the Windows client and can draw a box around text on the image (box appears red), and then copy and paste that text into some other app like Excel. Other users navigate to that same document, and when they draw a box around the text, the document viewer zooms in on the box (box appears black), which is what I always thought the default behavior was.

How can I alternate between these two behaviors so users can draw a box around text on the image and paste it elsewhere?

Thanks!

It appears that holding down CTRL while drawing the box around the text will give you the opportunity to then hit CTRL+C to copy the text in the box. I guess I should have asked if the user was doing anything special to get this to work - guessing this is what they're doing.

I think it also depends on if you which toolbar cursor you have selected, say if you have the selection tool selected. The crtl- is a way to always do it, I believe, regardless of selection tool.
