Question

Display uploaded file on form stored in repository

asked on June 28, 2024

Hello,

We were happy to discover recently that forms, where an uploaded file is set to show the uploaded image, will store in the repository with the image showing on the document...sometimes. I don't know if this is a newer feature, or if it's just something I've never tried before.  However, this only seems to happen with some image files.

I couldn't find anything on Answers or the help files that spells out which file types will show on stored documents, so I'm asking here.  My testing shows that bmp, png, gif, and jpg images will show on the stored document, but that tif and pdf will not.

Is there a complete list available?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Sarah,

Glad you ask about the feature. The supported types are file with following extension: "gif", "jpg", "jpeg", "jpe", "jfif", "png", "svg", "bmp", "dib".

For pdf file, it can be previewed on form but thumbnail will not be saved to repository.

On the other hand, I've brought this to our user education team to consider include the details in online help (#530730).
