Create search forms on a non-default website deployment of Weblink

For WebLink deployed on a non-default website in IIS.

Has anyone found a workaround to create search forms?

Currently, no search forms save and preview is also blocked.

Sorry, I don't have a setup like this to test myself, but what seems to be the blocker? Does saving return an error? Is the save button disabled?
