Question

What is the function of the due date on a record hold?

asked on May 17, 2024

When trying to add a hold in the Windows client I get the following dialog box

The Laserfiche user guide makes no reference to the "Due date" fields

Can someone tell me what it is and how it functions?

The Due Date is purely informative - it doesn't affect functionality, so you can use it in any way that you find helpful. If you know when the hold will end you can put that there, or you can put an estimated date as a reminder to follow up.

Thanks.  That section of the user's guide is overdue for an update.

Hello,

May not be looking in the right places, still not seeing much on this topic in the guides. I would love to know when the actual release happens when a due date is set. Is it at 12:00:00am on the defined date or is it the time of day when it was set.

Example: on 10/16 at 3:00pm, set hold with due date of 10/17. As of 8:30am on 10/17, the hold is still in place on the records.

Thanks in advance to any responses!

Nothing happens automatically at any time. See also my other response to this question.
