How to restore a single file in the Vault?

asked on May 8, 2024

The content file was accidentally deleted and I was trying to figure out how I could restore the file from our vault backup. We still have the metadata in Laserfiche but the underlying file in the vault is gone. If I can somehow identify the name of the file in the vault thru the database I can grab the file from our backup and try to recover it that way without having to go through an entire recovery process. Looking for any tips out there

Exactly. Restoring the file is only half the work, it won't matter if the database doesn't indicate that there should be a file present.

It depends on how the content was deleted.  If it was deleted using the client, then you would have to restore the SQL DB to another server/instance.

Using the EntryID, you can use the SQL query found here to get the location of the file(s) in the volume.

Thanks this was very helpful.  I'm still trying to get some info on exactly what happened, the content file may have been just accidentally removed so I was just trying to decipher how I could see if it was still in the vault.
