Include Document URL in Metadata Report

asked on May 6, 2024 Show version history

I wish to create Metadata Reports that include a URL to the actual document in each row.

The only way I have found to ahcieve this is to include the Entry ID on the export (column A), insert a column with the starting part of the URL (column B), combine the data from columns A and B in a formula to produce the URL link in column C. Although I can create a teamplate with a macro and then copy the export to the template to speed up this process, it is still manual and cumbersome. Is there a better way?

An option would be to create a new field called DocumentURL (or something logical) and then use Workflow to configure the "Generate Laserfiche Web Client URLs" task and populate the new field.

This would create the URL in the field and your metadata report would have the Web Client URL.

More work than I had hoped would be needed to achieve this, but it really is a great suggestion. I use the Genrate Laserfiche Web Client URL WF activity before, Thank you for this creative idea!
