I saw some odd search-related errors in the event log on my LFFS server, so I tried reinstalling it. Upon reinstallation, it gave this error message:

I tried copying the install files from the mounted ISO to the local drive and running them that way with no effect. I also tried running the install on a fresh VM and get the same error. Has anyone else experienced this and know of a workaround? I would love to be able to use Federated Search again.

You could try running the exe/MSI with logging enabled. Parameters for that are common for exe/MSI and should be Googleable. The exe one should be "-log <logDir>". There's probably a more useful error message in the actual logs. You'd at least probably see which step it was failing on.
