Our Forms database has doubled in size as a result of not deleting attachments (we are over 600GB.)

I have updated the global setting to delete after 365 days. Do you know if all attachments after 365 days will be deleted (for example 380 days) or if it just 365 days from the current date. I do understand that it only deletes 365 days after the completed process.

I did not see a reduction in size after I made the updates. I am still determining are they uploading faster then we are deleting. I am also going to tweak some of the individual forms to reduce to few days for some of our 'faster' processes.

We are also going to add a file volume to assist with issue.

I appreciate your insight!

This is expected. SQL databases do not automatically shrink when data is deleted. You may see an increase in the percentage of free space in the file by looking at the database properties in SQL Management Studio, but the size on disk will not change unless the database is manually shrunk.

I should have been more specific. When I look at the Forms Admin under volume management the size is not shrinking in production. I was able to see the 'cleanup' in test.

I expanded the Clearing Time to 5 hours and still no improvement. I suspect the data base it too big for the tool to identify the files that need to be deleted.

I am actively working with our SP to resolve the issue as well.

We're seeing this too. We've set the retention on uploaded files to 60 days, but the older files aren't being removed.

Commenting on the hope there was a solution found.
