Business Process - Email Service Task - Is it possible to email a team based on variable?

asked on April 19

Hi there, I would like to send an email to different teams at a stage depending on conditions of that instance.

When configuring User Tasks, it is possible to select a team based on a variable and assign/email them. However I'm having trouble trying to set up email service task to do similar things. I don't want to assign a task to the team, just email them.

I'm not sure if workflow may be the correct route but doesn't seem workflow has access to teams.

A workaround I have in mind is to use a user task activity with a timer signal to interupt after a minute just in order to select a team based on a variable and send the email from there.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Ray

You can use variable to set the sender in email tasks. When the process runs, if the variable value resolves to a team's names, the team's members will be emailed.

Hi Miruna,

Thanks for that. That's what I thought I was doing but for some reason my test instances were suspending so that's why I posted initially.

Then after circling back and reconfiguring they were able to progress.

Thanks for confirming that it is possible.

Kind regards,
Ray

** Found out the cause of my issue was that there were unverified members in the team the task tried to email. So it caused the activity to suspend with [LFF2000-EmailSubmissionFailure] error.
