Question

What would cause negative events in the Subscriber Tracer?

asked on April 17

I was troubleshooting an issue this week with Workflow and opened the Subscriber Tracer to the repository tab. After watching it for a few minutes I noticed that about every 2-4 minutes the Notifications Processing Load bar would go to 100% and it would record a negative value in the Events Processed Chart. What would cause the negative value?

We are using Workflow 11.0.2306.898.

Well that's a new one. I'll inquire.

People wise in the ways of Workflow say:

"Guess #1 would be the activity log rolled over in the middle of the interval somewhere. Shouldn't cause any issues. The activity log rolls over something like every 500k rows."

Guess #2 would be much much worse things like replacing the repository's DB with an older copy (while WF Subscriber was running).

Though, if it happens every 2-4 minutes, then neither guess is likely. Probably worth opening a support case and attaching a chunk of Subscriber logs covering that interval of time. (By default, the logs would be in C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\WF\ServerData\SubscriberLogs\<Subscriber Machine Name>\<Repo UUID>)

It's not happening today, so I'll keep an eye on it and if it happens again, I'll open a support case.
