Question

Can we get charts in Laserfiche Client?

asked on April 16

Hello.

I just wanted to know if it was possible to display graphics in the Laserfiche Client (Windows or Web) as in the example below (or equivalent). If so, how do I go about it?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Hi Olivier,

If graphics are in any standard image format (jpg, png, tiff, etc.) that Laserfiche considers an image page, it will display those like normal documents.

If you are asking about automatically generated charts/graphics based on metadata like I think your screenshot is showing, no, that is not built-in. You would have to run a report / export the data somewhere, generate the chart image, and import that into Laserfiche as a document.

Most commonly customers use Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Microsoft PowerBI for data visualization. There are ways to connect BI tools to Laserfiche data.

Hi Samuel,

Thanks for your return. Do you have some tutorials or document about how to connect BI to LF?

The documentation would be from the specific BI solution. You want to look for the instructions on connecting it to a SQL Server database. Connect to the repository database. It is critical that it only has read-only access to the database so no unsupported modifications occur.

Here is Microsoft's guide on connecting PowerBI to SQL Server databases:
