Question

Clarification on the table file size limit, min update time and lookup query capabilities

asked on March 26, 2024

Hi,

I have a couple of key points which I would appreciate some clarification:

  • I see that table row limits have been increased, and that a table could potentially store up to 20,000 rows. If I'm interpreting the limits correctly, I'm reading that the file size limit for each table is 10MB. Is this correct? A table I created has one row with 500 characters in it. If I were to write 20,000 rows, of at least 500 characters in each. What would be the resulting size of the table and does the 10MB limit apply to this exact situation limiting the rows I can write?

  • What does "Minimum delay between table updates" mean in terms of updating lookup tables and how could it affect a BP?

I would las like to ask if there is any reason why an advanced custom query window can't be added to do some join, unions or a bit more advanced queries with our lookup tables. I know it would potentially take some extra processing to join big tables, but it would be a very useful feature for us.

Thanks.

Hi Luis,

  • Maximum file size here is in reference to the maximum upload file size for a lookup table both from the lookup table page and when using the Replace Lookup Table activity in Workflow. The size of the table does not apply to you using a query to write additional rows.
  • Minimum delay between table updates refers to the time delay between updating the same table through using the Replace Lookup Table activity in Workflow.

We will be updating the service limit page to make this more clear.

Advanced queries such as joins, unions, etc are not currently available with Lookup Tables but we are looking in to options to enhance this in the future.
