Import Workflow Files/Revert to Previous Workflow

When I go to the Workflow Admin Console --> Workflow Definitions, select a Workflow, right click on that Workflow, choose the View Version History option, Downlaod a previous Workflow version, I get a .wfx file. When I attempt to import that Workflow (Workflow Designer --> Workflow --> Import Workflow), it is only allowing a .wfi file.  This is how our implementation partner told us we could revert to a previous Workflow version. If this is not the correct process, what is?  The admin guide discusses how to download the files, but not how to import them.  If I delete the most recent version in the Admin Console, will it automatically revert to the version before?

You should be able to use File > Open from the Workflow designer to open that wfx file.

You can view it and work on it, and if if you publish it, it should overwrite the prior version.
