Question

Can't see uploaded documents in Laserfiche

asked on February 27, 2024

Hello,

Sorry to ask this question again I can't find the answer that was provided to me.  I have two users in Laserfiche.  One just scanned in documents, they processed, and she can see them.  The other user enters the same information ie dates, names, and vendors in the template but can see the uploaded documents. Not sure why the second user can't see the uploaded.

The answer to why a user can't see something in the repository is almost always security. If you log in as a user with Manage Entry Access permissions, you can check what the "effective" rights are for the user who can't see the document. You can compare that with the rights of the user who can see the document, and it will tell you where the second user acquired those rights.

Do you have security tags enabled by chance?

Yes, should I put a check in them?

Not necessarily.  If you are utilizing security tags and that particular folder has a security tag applied to it in the metadata, the user will not be able to see anything potentially because their account does not have that particular tag assigned.

First, I would check to see if tags are applied to that folder

Right click the folder and select metadata

Click the tags tab and verify if any are selected:

IF there is a tag selected (say for my example, Autotheft) and depending on how you have security set up, you would need to apply this tag to the user or group in the LF Admin console.

For us, we apply to a group, and then add users to the group:
