Can't find a list of Tokens/Variables passed from Forms to Workflow

asked on February 6

I've searched the helpfiles and done Google searches for thirty minutes and I've given up. I'm certain there was a list of the tokens passed from Forms to Workflow when you set the Workflow properties to be started from Forms, but I can't for the life of me find it.

Suggestion for Laserfiche, please link to that list when someone clicks on the 'Help' button in that dialogue.

Yeah, I've never seen anything in the Help Documentation explaining those - that would be nice to have.

Here's a list I put together based on a simple form process and workflow (with the "Track Tokens" activity).

I am also attaching the original document that the screenshot was taken from (you just need to change the file extension back from txt to xlsx for Excel to recognize it and open it properly).

Is this what you are looking for?

Yes, but I'm certain there was a page in the online documentation that listed out all the variables in a table with brief descriptions of each token, whether it was a single or MV token, and some hints on howt o use them. I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem, and don't want to spend hours tinkering and experimenting to find out why the Submission Actions token is misbehaving in one of my workflows.

I have often wondered why there was no data dictionary available for native variables.

Was there one previously?

This would be quite helpful to have.

Will do. Thank you for reporting the missing page. Reference ID # 508352.

In the meantime, was there any specific information you were looking for that I can provide?

Yes, I had a workflow pulling the last user action via the Submission Actions BP token, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly any more. Could use some help on that. How to pull the most recent user action from a Forms Business process.

I feel like some of those tokens changed on a recent update (I think 11 Update 2 or 11 Update 3 - I'm not 100% certain).  They include more information now than they used to (expanded to include information from other things like Workflow tasks and Send to Repository Tasks - when they used to include only the User Task items).

I recommend using the "Track Tokens" activity to verify exactly what you workflow is getting from your specific Forms process.

It should be Submission Action.
Submission Actions contains all the actions as a multi value field.

Matthew,

Good catch. That would line up with around the time my workflows started going strange.
