Laserfiche Web Client Mouse Scroll Settings Question

asked on January 25, 2024 Show version history

Hello,

Is it possible to change the default mouse function for Laserfiche Web client to scroll instead of zoom when viewing documents? This would be for use on our website. Where can we find the these settings for me to update them.

Thank you for helping.

Are you talking about what the mouse wheel does? I just tested images docs, Word, and pdf, and it already scrolls for all of those document types.

That is correct, I am talking about the mouse wheel. When I am viewing documents that are on the Laserfiche Web client for a Customer. When the document is opened, by default when we use the wheel it starts to zoom in and out. When we use the Hand (Pan) symbol it lets us scroll. So I would like to make the scroll function the default one.

It sounds like somehow you have your default tool set to zoom instead of pan. I've looked through the settings code and I don't see what user setting would control that, but you can check the user's attributes to see if any of the ones they have set sound relevant. Do other users see this same behavior? Do you see it at other installations? What version of the web client is this?

Hello,

I was able to make changes to my settings by using the following steps:

1. Begin by logging into the Laserfiche account.
2. Once logged in, locate and click on the app icon.
3. Navigate to the public portal designer.
4. In the public portal designer on the left-hand side, you'll find a tab labeled "default cursor mode."
5. Verify whether the default cursor mode is correctly set. It's likely set to "zoom" rather than "pan" in your case.
6. Finally, select the "pan" option and save your changes.

Thank you for helping.
