Question

how to get the filename from the most recent file in a folder?

asked on January 11, 2024

Greetings Team!

I am relatively new to Laserfiche Workflow and have only worked on basic tasks so far. I currently have a folder containing various files, each beginning with a specific code. My goal is to identify the latest file created, extract the code from its name, and then copy a file from another folder into this directory, while also modifying the name of the new file.

I've done some research on how to achieve this. I understand that by using "find entries," I can retrieve the file names and determine the most recently created file. However, I am encountering some challenges. I have attached a reference image for clarification. Could you please provide guidance and assistance?

I would probably use Search Repository here, searching for all documents in the folder, selecting the first result to return, specifying Creation Date as an Additional Property, and Sort(ing) Found Entries by Date Created in descending order.
