Disabling and Enabling Workflow Schedule Rules

posted on January 5, 2024

If you disable a rule that runs on a schedule, then re-enable it in the future, it will never run. You must go into the date field of the schedule and set it to the current date which is completely unintuitive. It should continue to run again once enabled.

For example, my workflow did not run last night and I want to see why, I check the rule, the enabled checkbox is enabled.

So the only possible explanation is that it is waiting for a date in the past that will never come

This means it will never run ever again, once enabled

Scheduled tasks in the Cloud are nothing short of vexing.

First, Chad's observation is truly odd, as you would think the logic would be Now >= begin date.

So, it must be event driven. But when?  When you run a rule manually, it shows completion in Pacific Time. However, you can set your time zone in the schedule.  Even there you get some some lag.  Basically, you have to set your starting time at least five minutes ahead of the time zone you have selected, and then wait for the event to get triggered. Ignore the time the WF Monitors, as that is not relevant at all.
