How can add Metadata values to a files in a folder in Laserfiche Workflow?

Hi comunnity! I am stucked and I dont know what should I do. I have a folder with differents files, and I want the folder with the files have metadata values. I am using Workflow designer but I am stuck. Any thought? The folder and the files are created.

Can you give us more details? Does the folder already have metadata? Is the metadata on the folder and on the documents supposed to be the same? If you don't have any of the metadata yet, where are you getting it from?

Hello! The situation is as follows: I have created a form for placing files in a folder. I can attach metadata values to the files in the Laserfiche form. However, there is a need to retrieve other files from a different folder and apply metadata values from this form to this files are locate in other folder.

Fabian, you can use workflow activity 'Retrieve Field Values' to retrieve data from a template that associated with a document, and use 'Assign Field Values' to assign data to a template.

You can use 'Find Entries' or 'Find Entry' activity to find the existing file(s).

OK, let's nail down your situation first. You have

File A generated by a form in folder A with metadata/template A;

File B is in folder B (with or without template assigned?);

You want to retrieve some metadata from File A/template A and assign it to File B. In case File B does not has it's own template, you want to first assign a template (same as template A or a different one?)

Assume File A and File B have some relationship so that you can find File A from File B. What will trigger the workflow?
