Facility Inspection Checklist

asked on December 28, 2023

Hello,

I am wanting to make our PDF Facility Inspection Form a Laserfiche Form instead. The current layout works quite well, so I would like to replicate it. I am experimenting with a table but need help with how to best accomplish it. Is a table the best option or something else? Thank you!

I would not recommend setting this up as a Table or a Collection - those are really designed for repeatable rows of data.

For a structure like this, you just have to get really creative with your appearance and CSS to get it looking like you want.

You've tagged your post as "Classic Form Designer", which could mean some difficulty getting this set-up the way you want.  You'll have a lot easier time doing something like this with the New Form Designer than with the Classic Designer.  You can do it with the Classic Designer, but it's going to rely a lot more on the CSS you utilize, whereas the New Designer will give you an easier time getting everything laid out in the structure you want just with drag-dropping fields.

Thank you, I will try that out! I am used to the Classic Designer, but willing to give the other one a try.

This post may help you in what you are trying to do. It is not exactly the same but may get your moving in the right direction. I had to do something similar 8 years ago.

Hi Kara,

At first look I would create this in the modern designer and make each section (Building Exterior, Electrical, etc...) a tab.

If you want to get fancy after the form is filled out and submitted, run a workflow to populate the data from the laserfiche form to the actual PDF. That way the finished product stays consistent with what you currently have.

Thank you! I will try to mess around with that and see how it looks.
