Forms 11 Update 5 Feedback

asked on December 22, 2023 Show version history

First let me start by saying there are a lot of great features with this release and thank you for all of your hard work to get it released. There are several features that will make our processes and administration of them easier.

Below is a list of things that I made notes of as I walked through the new features in 11 Update 5.

Field Masking

It appears that the Field Masking for single line fields was added as a radio button in conjunction with the regular expressions option. From my testing so far, if you choose the field masking option, you are not able to use regular expressions when setting it. It would be really helpful if you could use regular expressions with a field mask.

Table Filters

The table filters are set up similar to a field rule rather than setting a filter for each column on the table itself. This does allow you to create some complicated filters, but it does not allow you to save the filters for future use. It would be nice if it would save like a user attribute per Forms process and table so they could be reused without having to recreate them each time.

Convert Check Boxes to Drop-Down Fields

The feature works great with radio buttons and the fact you can custom set what that value per field that triggers this is fantastic. My question is why was this implemented for check box fields? A check box field allows an end user to select multiple options, but the current drop-down field does not.

Here is a video that goes over some of the options of the new Input Mask feature in Forms 11 Update 5:

For "Convert Check Boxes to Drop-Down Fields", we also allows an end user to select multiple options, can you try it again?

That is fantastic. I just tested it, and it works great. Any other features that were not pointed out in the release notes?

I meant more items that are not described in the List of Changes KB article like the multi-select drop-down field.

We recently upgraded to Forms 11 update 5. In some processes, we have customized the Instance Name. When testing, we see that whenever the variables listed in Instance Name is empty, it is displaying the code instead of blank in Monitor page. Has any one seen this issue please?

Can you double check the inserted variable is correct format? and can the variable be parsed correctly if the variable has value?

Yes, it has correct format. This was all fine until we moved to update 5. If variable has a value, it is fine. When the variable is empty, it is when it is displaying the code.

I could not reproduce on my test environment (upgrade from 11 Update 4 to Update 5).

Which version did you upgrade from?

Can it work fine after saving instance name again? if not, can you please file a ticket and upload the problematic process for troubleshooting?

Thanks. We moved from update 4 to update 5. We have filed a ticket.

Were you able to resolve this issue?  We just updated from Forms Update 4 to Forms Update 5 and are seeing the same issue with code in the Instance names if the variable is blank.
