Question

Displaying a form from workflow

asked on November 16, 2023

HI is it possible to have a form displayed to capture a doc type for example, and depending on the type,  a new form will displayed to capture mandatory data for that doc type only.

so for example :-

Bank statement => Statement date range & statement number

Meeting Mins     => Meeting date

Invoice                 => Invoice date & Invoice Number

etc.

From this information I can auto name my files so we have a solid enforced naming convention

Thanks

Karl, would you mind giving more detail on how you see this working with Workflow? Workflow is an automated tool, so I'm not sure what you are envisioning here.

Hi, we have multiple document types and I capture the top level, but we want to auto name documents or certain types, but depending on the document type, the fields may be different.

We have a problem where spelling mistakes occur, dates in wrong format or missing, so we would like to try and take out as much human error where possible and WF can help automate and validate, is my thinking

I Hope this is clearer

Workflow could take the OCR'd text and you could search that to then populate metadata, but the tool meant for that in the Laserfiche Suite would be Quick Fields and Quick Fields Agent.
