Question

Windows authentication working for Forms, but not web client after version upgrade

asked on November 13, 2023

We recently upgraded Laserfiche server to 11.0.2301.262, web client to 11.0.2302.22 and forms to 11.0.2212.30987.

Forms and web client are hosted on the same server.

After updating, we saw that we could sign into Forms as we normally would, using windows authentication, however when signing into LF web client, we are shown only a username and password login screen.

Forms:

Web Client:

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Hi Christian, Forms is configured to use Laserfiche Directory Server (LFDS) SSO (that's what's shown in the first screenshot), while Web Client is not (second screenshot shows its own login screen).

RDP to your web client server, go to https://yourWebClientServer.example.com/laserfiche/configuration, and set up Directory Server authentication as described here:

https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche.documentation/11/administration/en-us/Default.htm#../Subsystems/WAConfiguration/Content/general-services.htm

Use the same /LFDSSTS URL for Web Client as you are for Forms. You can check the "Directory Server STS URL" value in /FormsConfig following information on this page:

https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche.documentation/11/administration/en-us/Default.htm#../Subsystems/Forms/Content/Laserfiche-Directory-Service-Users.htm

It doesn't look like the Web Client is configured to use LFDS Authentication like Forms is. You will need to go into the Web Client Configuration page and set that up.
