New Laserfiche integration for SharePoint Online now available!

posted on November 3, 2023

I’m excited to announce the availability of our new Laserfiche integration with Microsoft SharePoint Online.  Take advantage of Laserfiche’s inherent security and records management functionality with a tight integration with SharePoint Online. This integration provides common repository management capabilities like browsing your Laserfiche repository, viewing documents, and saving documents to Laserfiche with configurable metadata mapping directly from SharePoint Online.  The integration is included with your Laserfiche Cloud account and can be obtained via Microsoft for installation into your SharePoint site by an administrator.

Is this or will this be available for self-hosted systems?

No firm plans just yet, but we are discussing the possibility.

Does a user need to manually select "Save to Laserfiche" to copy/move a document to LF Cloud or can this be done automatically when a document is added to a particular SharePoint document library?

The integration does not contain any automation at this time.

Thanks Andrew.  Do you happen to know if its on the radar?  I ask because the connectivity between Power Automation, SharePoint and Laserfiche Cloud would be extremely helpful.

It is something we've discussed internally but haven't prioritized at this time.  I would recommend looking at our guide on Integrating with Low Code Tools.  We actually use Power Automate as the low-code tool to call our Laserfiche Repository API.  Since Power Automate can connect to SharePoint and can call our API using their HTTP Action, you should be able to wire up an integration.  If you have more details on your use-case I could potentially provide more options.

Is a Participant license adequate if staff is only viewing and not sending docs to Laserfiche?
