Laserfiche Cloud Data Source: The verification is still pending. Please check back later.

Do we know how the verification process works? I would love more information on the maximum time this should take (are we talking minutes or months?). If it has been more than a day I would like to assume it would report a success or failure but the status just says "Unverified" with no information on how often it is making attempts or any sort of log to give me any indication there is an issue or if this is normal.

Any information would be helpful, thanks!

Clicking on the rule from here and clicking Test, seems to do the same thing as Verify but no change in results: https://app.laserfiche.com/bpm/home/_global/rules/index?category=queries

Hey Paul,

The maximum time for verification will depend on the database type and the size and complexity of the target database (for example, MSSQL has a timeout of 30s to connect, but based on the number of tables and complexity of the column schema it could take longer to properly verify the data source). However, it should not be taking days, definitely on scale the minutes, or a few hours at the longest for extremely complex databases. 

If the data source is not verified after then, there is most likely an issue with the connection. You can investigate your Remote Agent logs at the default location C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\BPMServer\Laserfiche.ProcessAutomation.LocalAgent which should give a more detailed answer for why it's failing to connect.

Thanks Kevin, I'll let you know what I find when I get reconnected but the worker is running on the sql server and the db only has 3 basic tables. It's nothing special so hopefully the logs will help.

Thanks, the log file said incorrect username and password. I retyped it (which I had already tried but I must have mistyped it twice) and it's working.

Can I recommend the lack of that message showing in the interface should be logged as a bug?

HI Paul,

Yes - I'll put a bug in to put more information in the data source itself, especially in cases where 'Pending Verification' fails.
