Question

Laserfiche Print Properties

asked on October 18, 2023

A user is having issues when printing a Laserfiche document. Laserfiche keeps changing the Printer Properties settings to a different "Document Size" that is not "8.5 x 11":

The default should be 8.5 x 11.

Currently, the user has to manually set the document size every time something needs to be printed on Laserfiche. This does not happen when printing regular documents outside of Laserfiche. Does someone happen to have any suggestions as to why Laserfiche keeps changing the document size, and how to change that ?

With that information, I'm guessing the Client has its options set to decide on the page size based on the image size.

Here's the pertinent options:

I'm guessing that second section is marked to chose the paper size based on the page size...

I think we might need some additional information in order to best assist with this issue.

Is this the Windows Client or the Web Client?  They will behave differently when viewing and printing documents.

Is it a native Laserfiche document (TIF File) or a PDF File?  If it's a PDF file, this could mean it's an Adobe issue, not a Laserfiche one.

Are the documents actually scanned at the expected size?  You should be able to confirm the size of a scanned page within the Viewer.  For example, in the Windows Client, when viewing a native Laserfiche document (TIF File), I can click in the image pane and at the bottom corner of the window, and it'll display the sizing of the Image, such as 2550 x 3300, 300 x 300 DPI (which translates to 8.5" x 11").

Hello Matthew,

Thank you for your assistance. To provide you with a clearer understanding of the situation, here are some additional details:

Client Type: The issue is occurring on the Windows Client of Laserfiche.

File Type: The problematic files are TIF (Tagged Image File) documents.

Image Size (Example): For instance, one of the files has an image size of 1710 x 2226 pixels with a resolution of 300 x 300 DPI (dots per inch). It's important to note that the TIF files being accessed vary in image sizes and are not limited to 1710 x 2226, 300 x 300 DPI.

Is there a possibility that an inadvertent setting might be causing this issue?

Thank you for your continued assistance.

What size is Laserfiche setting the Document Size to? Does it always set it to the same size or does it change depending on the size of the document in Laserfiche?
