Question

Recaptcha delaying submission after not responding, ultimately successful but frustrating to submitters.

asked on October 10, 2023

Hello, we have been using recaptcha 2.0 for some time on our laserfiche forms. Recently there is a behavior when submitting a form with captcha where it hangs for a short period of time, triggers a not responding error, and, if you wait, ultimately submits.

here is the  link we use for testing this feature: https://www.ci.oswego.or.us/formslf/testers where you can see the behavior for yourself. We have tried using new keys, and also temporarily disabled our firewall to see if that was causing hte issue. On the server, there is an event on the server that corresponds, and here is the text:

An unexpected error has occurred. [LFF502-UnexpectedError]

Does anyone have this issue and are there other steps I can try to pinpoint this issue? Our alternative is to remove recaptcha from forms, but we appreciate the additional layer to prevent cyber attacks. Thanks!

Hello whoever may have looked or had this problem. This issue was caused by our 2 part access for web servers. We had to allow our webserver and our Laserfiche server to reach https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js without using the proxy.
