Hello,

I am trying to use ImportAgent to import a batch of files for a client area, and hitting a wall when it comes to importing .msg files and dealing with their attachments. When an .msg file is imported and then opened in document viewer, there is no way to access attachments embedded in the file and the file itself opens in the document viewer as plain text, with no formatting or links.

Ideally, I would like to be able to direct importagent to a folder with mixed filetypes, and have it assign metadata to the assigned filetypes upon import regardless of type but also separate attachments from emails and create a link between the files (specifically a message-attachment relationship).

I have tried reviewing our email settings for new documents and user profile attributes, but haven't found a way to set default behaviour for .msg files so that attachments are separated out but linked to the emails they come from. There are over 9000 emails in our fileshare from this area alone, and I both don't want to have to manually create those links, or write a workflow to do so, or recommend that if staff want to view attached files they will need to download each email and open the attachments from that (it's a clunky option that is sure to alienate people).

Is there an option out there that I'm not aware of? Staff will be using primarily webclient, and this is for imports from our fileshare (not ongoing imports from outlook or anything like that).
