I want a form field to be hidden until a specific choice is made including when a choice has not been selected

I have a dropdown with 5 choices and want a field to only show when a specific choice is made.

I set the rule to Show field when choice is X.

I do not want the field to show until that choice is made. However, the field is only hidden when one of the other choices is selected. I wanted it to remain hidden when there is no choice as well.

Whether is Modern or Classic Forms Designer, the rule is much the same.

In this case the Dept Drop Down has values of Dept A, Dept B & Dept C.

In Both rules, the field is only displayed on the form when the Dept B choice is chosen.

The field remains hidden when any other selection including no selection is made.

In Classic Forms

In Modern. add the rule to the Field you want to show is easiest

Thanks for your response but the field still shows unless "yes" is chosen. This is happening on multiple fields and I'm in the modern design view. Any help is appreciated.

It's the only rule I have. I'm early into creating my form and I've tried creating rules on different field types and the issue is the same. If there is no selection on the choice, the field shows.

You might need to change your option of "When any of the following is true" to "When all of the following is true".

That should make the "K12 or College" radio buttons appear ONLY when Yes is selected.

There was a post yesterday where someone else said their Rules weren't working, and they upgraded their onprem Forms to version 11.0.2307.40547 and that fixed the issue. What version of forms are you running?
