Web Client Scanning gives "Invalid connection" error

asked on September 21, 2023

Has anyone found a solution to this error when launching the Scanning module for the Web Client?  We've got version 11 update 7 of the web client.  When I choose either Basic or Standard, the machine gives this "Invalid connection" error, followed by message box with "object reference not set to an instance of an object".

We've removed and re-installed scanning, web tools, Office integration and the MS Visual C++ redistributables (both 2012 and 2015-2019).

Hi Kyle,

Could you provide detail version for webaccess/desktop scanning and some creenshots when the error happened?

The first error message, "Invalid Connection" pops up 6 times, then is followed by the "Object Reference..." message, then a final pop-up message of "Invalid Connection". This happens with three different trustees.

Here's one of the the error messages from C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Scanning\Errors:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I tried the same environment (WebClient 11 Update 7 + Desktop scanning 11.0.2203.123) and cannot reproduce the Invalid Connection error.

Would you please  open a support case for this so that we can invest more closely on your issue?
