Question

the repository cannot be mounted at the current time because it is been mounted or unmounted, please wait until the current operation is complete

asked on September 21, 2023

When i turn on workstation and open my windows client i always get "cannot connect to laserfiche server" "then i go to my admin console and manually start the server to bring it online and then when i try to login to the repository i get  "the repository cannot be mounted at the current time because it is been mounted or unmounted, please wait until the current operation is complete"  message?

what do i do to stop it and why do i always need to manually start the  server from the administration console or in most cases restart the server that is hosting my lf server?

The message about mounting the repository is normal as the Laserfiche Server will not attempt to bring a repository online until the first connection is attempted. It should clear up in seconds.

As for why your server is not automatically started, you can look through Windows event logs to see if it crashed. Or, if this happens only when the machine is rebooted, Windows may have logged why the service did not start. If the machine is slightly underpowered, starting services may take longer than Windows expects and the Service Control Manager will time them out. Event log will show that too.

If you need more help investigating why the service did not start, you could open a case with Tech Support.
