Audit Trail 11 Folder Structure and Cleanup

asked on August 10, 2023

I was wondering if someone could explain how the files in the Audit Trail 11 Catalog folders work?  We have a client who has Audit Trail set to 3 Months of data, but they're finding the catalog folder just continually keeps adding more "Archive#" folders, but never actually cleans them up.  So they have folders in here with audit data older than 3 months (5 or 6 currently).  How exactly does the new Audit Trail Reporter cleanup and remove outdated information?  Does it hit a certain age and then move things to the archive folder?  Or does it go based on size?  Any overview of the inner workings and cleanup schedule would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi, Brandon,

A possible cause of this ever-growing audit catalog size is that one or more manually added folders on tab "Repositories", Audit Trail Configuration Site include active audit logs of a Laserfiche Server repository. It is a known issue with solution documented on Audit Trail 11 Frequently Asked Questions as Q: Searching on the Audit Trail Reporting Site intermittently fails. What are the possible causes?

If that is the case, you can follow the FAQ, or upgrade to Audit Trail 11 Update 5 which includes a fix of the issue. You will need to re-create the affected date range on tab "Search Catalogs", Audit Trail Configuration Site after upgrade.

Regards.
