I would just like to confirm that Audit Trail does NOT track changes to the values in fields/variables. Is that correct?

I have a situation where there has been some alleged nefarious modifying of a form. It appears that is the case in the monitor tab, but was hoping to get something from Audit Trail to help support such a serious accusation.

No, the Audit Trail features that have been added for Forms does not track the changing of a fields value.

Modified in what sense? If you change a variable using the "edit variables" functionality it does add something to the instance history so that should be clearly visible.

Additionally, even if you change a value later in the process, the value associated with previous submissions should still be unchanged when you look at those specific steps in the history.

Yeah, more of a user changing values on a field just using it normally.
