I have a workflow, when I try to run it via Laserfiche client i get this error message:
Question
Question
Error Message: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.
Answer
- First, get a valid, trusted certificate for the Workflow server that covers the fully qualified (FQDN) hostname of the machine and any aliased names you might be using for it.
- Install that certificate in the Local Machine > Personal certificate store.
- Open IIS Manager > Sites > Default Web Site > Bindings > 443/https > Edit > Select your valid certificate from the dropdown > Save.
- Open Workflow Configuration Manager > Workflow Web Service > Enter the fully qualified, https URL for the Workflow machine, like https://workflow-fqdn.example.com/Workflow/.
- Use the "Test" function in the Workflow Web Service configuration to verify there are no errors.
- Republish your Business Processes to make sure they use the correct https URL you just configured.
- Retest the business process.
Steps 1-3 are not Laserfiche specific and well-documented on the internet.

In the Workflow Configuration Manager, what do you have configured as the Workflow web service URL? Assuming that it's some form of
https://server.domain.com/workflow
can you make sure that this same URL loads successfully in a web browser from the same computer where the Laserfiche Windows Client is being used to try and run business processes? Specifically, confirm that the site loads properly with the web browser indicating a valid SSL certificate.
If all of that checks out, then try republishing the Workflow business processes in the Workflow Designer and then close/reopen the Windows Client and try running the business processes again.
