Briefcase from On Premise to LF Cloud Repository not Merging Documents and Folders into the Original Path.

I tried importing the results from a Search that return all new Documents created after a certain date.

I choose the set of documents and in the export Briefcase "options" I choose to the options in the screen shot .

When i try to import the documents that were exported from the search results, i would like them to be put in a folders structure matching the original location full path.

When importing i chose to Merge with existing Folder Structure.

However after importing all documents go to the Root Folder and do not create the original File path or get imported into an existing path if it matches the full path. Is there a way to this where the documents go to Correct path?

This would allow Documents added to a On Prem. Repository after a migration to LF Cloud to be added and then the On Premise system could be decommissioned.

Please advise, any assistance here

To export the search results, select the "Search Results" item in the left pane before downloading the briefcase instead of selecting the results in the right pane: 

 

Edit: I tested this by exporting from a self-hosted repository and importing the briefcase to LF cloud. The documents retained their folder structure after import.

Hi Robert,

I'm trying this out and it's not behaving the way it's described here. All my documents get put at the root level of the repository, or into whatever folder I import the briefcase into.

Am I supposed to right-click the Search Results node in your screenshot and choose "create briefcase?" Or just click on it, and then go to the download button in the toolbar and choose "download briefcase?" I've tried both methods and neither have worked, so maybe it's something about the way I'm importing the briefcase in my cloud repository?

That worked for me too. can the same approach work if you upload a briefcase through the Browser. I will have to try it as i was having similar issues.

I'll post once tested.
