Emilee, I would agree that storing an entire SSN in Laserfiche is probably not the safest idea, especially since there are other unique identifiers that can be used, such as an employee id or student id. Having a SSN in the system is just one more thing that you have to think of securing. There are ways of securing it, such as encrypting the Laserfiche repository database, but that comes with its own set of pros and cons that you would need to weigh.
