Stored Cloud Credentials for QuickFields Sessions

asked on June 28, 2023

Hello, I'm having an issue where every time I open a QuickFields session that is connected to my LF Cloud account, I have to reinput my Account ID and credentials.  It's mildly annoying and I know for on-premise QuickFields you did not have to reinput credentials every time you opened a session.

My biggest concern is setting this session to run with QuickFields Agent.  I'm concerned the agent will not be able to run the session automatically and routinely if the credentials aren't being properly saved to the session.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?  Does QuickFields agent even work with Laserfiche Cloud?

Hi Grant,

If you want to use session in Quick Fields Agent, it is recommended to choose Network repository option Jacob has mentioned. The Server and Repository should be r-repoId.laserfiche.com, and you can input the authentication after click Configure authentication link.

That way, the authentication won't expire. The Laserfiche Cloud option has a much shorter expiration time (should be 8 hours if I remember correctly, it should be the same with how your cloud session time out on browser), which is not suitable to use in Quick Fields Agent.

Awesome thank you Shengyao, I will set up QF agent to use Network repository and input the proper credentials.

Thanks!

Hi Grant,

I don't know the rhyme or reason for why this is inconsistent, but I've run into it, too. First, what version of Quick Fields are you running? There's a difference in the UI between 10.3 and 11 regarding how you can connect to your Cloud repository.

In 10.3, you have to enter the server and repository like the screenshot below because the option for Laserfiche Cloud isn't there. The first 2 redacted strings are your repository ID; something like r-abcd1234.

In version 11, I think I find I have better luck still using this same method versus using the Laserfiche Cloud radio button. But, I definitely have some instances where the Laserfiche Cloud radio button works just fine. So, if you're running version 11, it might be worth trying both authentication methods to see if one works better than the other.
