Upgrade Checklist

posted on June 28, 2023

We're preparing to upgrade to v11 (self-hosted).

This is our first major Laserfiche upgrade and we'd like to create a checklist for upgrade weekend. Specifically, what to test once the installation is complete and the system is back up and running. We have been testing our existing processes in v11 on our TEST server, so we're not too worried about those. But what else should we look at? Things like:

  • Make sure Forms is communicating with Workflow and the Repository
  • Make sure our in-progress instances aren't stuck/hung
  • What else?

Do you have an upgrade checklist for your org? Any defined post-upgrade SOP you'd like to share?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Jennifer,

We are looking at upgrading from 10.4 in the next few months and I wanted to see 1) If you developed a checklist after going through this and 2) If you have any warnings/suggestions.

Thanks so very much

In the end, I didn't build a checklist, but we did throw together a "Testing Process" we could run post-upgrade.

Form 1 in the process includes: a theme, lookups, field rules, CSS, and JS.
We then run a Workflow that returns a value to Form 2, route a user task back to the initiator with an e-mail notification, and save the form to the repository.

We run this process in both Forms and Forms Portal.

It's an extremely basic process, but did catch an issue with our connection to Workflow that we were able to correct right away.

Aside from that, we did see several "hung" processes that needed to be nudged (mainly just restarting workflows).

Good luck!
We're very happy to be on the newer version smiley
