Question

Quick Fields Document Revision Pane and Annotation

asked on June 23, 2023

Scenario:

I am currently following some Laserfiche Training video. I just completed how to automatically re-name a document. The scanned document now appears in the Document Revision pane.

The video continues by showing me to add an annotation to it as my next step. The video says to simply click on the Page Processing stage under the Session Configuration pane.

The problem is when I click on the Page Processing stage to add a new annotation such as a permanent stamp, , nothing shows up for me.

The document I just re-named is still under the Document Revision pane.

Is there a way for me to get the same document I just scanned and re-named to re-appear in the Session Configuration pane for me to apply some Annotations to it?

Thanks!

I assume you mean that nothing shows up on the document you already scanned? Changes are not retroactively applied to documents in the Revision pane.  Documents won't show up in the Session Configuration pane--only sample documents/pages do, to help you preview your configuration.

If the document is just a test document (and you didn't delete it after scanning it), you can just run the session again with your modifications--it'll rescan the document and process it with the updated document class (and you can just delete the previous document).

Or you can right click on the document in the Revision pane and, from the context menu, manually tell it to reprocess using the same document class.

Hi,

The problem I am having below is shown in the 4 screen shots below.

I am using the training videos and just scanned a document which was automatically renamed and it appeared in the "Document Revision" pane on the bottom left-hand corner. (Screenshots 1 and 2).

However, when I click on Page Processing (in Screenshot 3), the same document does not appear (as in Screenshot 5).

How can I get it to appear so I can perform Permanent Stamp process in (Screenshot 4).

As my previous post suggests, you need to reprocess these documents to get the permanent stamp applied.  Changes to the session or document classes are not applied retroactively to scanned documents--you need to make all such changes first, then scan documents.

Usually, this is trivial.  Delete the documents in the Document Revision pane and click the Scan button again.  The only time this doesn't work is if you're making permanent changes to the source documents after they are scanned (e.g., deleting or moving them).
