Is there a method to disable direct share in a cloud environment? The user would like to keep export rights but just remove Direct Share as an export option.
There isn't currently a way to disable it separate from reducing a user's rights. Users who have the export right have access to any of the export methods (download, email, direct share).

Is the customer looking to remove all direct email functionality, or just direct share. If not, do you know what they specifically are concerned about with direct share?

The customer was looking to just remove the direct sharer mechanism. The concern from the customer is that it may be too easy to share large amounts of information mistakenly via the direct share option as opposed to the email option.
Justin, I will add that another municipal customer just asked me about this. They have a policy about what gets shared and mechanisms in place to "watch" what gets shared via normal email and network shares. They would like the abillity to disable Direct Share as well. Thanks.
