Question

Question

Can we switch named user to full licenses for Windows users?

asked on May 12, 2023

We have 50 full named user licenses and are only using 40.  However we have only have 10 Full Licenses in Laserfiche Directory server and would like to add more.  Is there a way to convert the named repository users to the LDS full License?  We've already made the investment...  Thanks for your help!

Hi Dominique

Yes, it is possible to transition some or all of you users over to LFDS users, it just takes a little work and configuration. Can I reach out to you directly?

Big thanks to you Steve!

Paying it forward in case someone else needs the steps!

In case anyone runs into this in the future:

Go to the LFDS  (Laserfiche directory server online)

Select Applications

Select Laserfiche Server

Click on Laserfiche and select drop down arrow (right)

Click edit

Click advanced options

Change the qty of full repository users to what you want it to be

Click Save

Click “get license” on the right hand side by Laserfiche

Copy the downloaded license to your clipboard

Browse to C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server

Paste the new file

Rename the current lf.licx to something else

Rename the new file to LF.lics

Restart the Laserfiche server service.

Dominic, I'm a little confused by your question. You say you have 50 full named user licenses and are using 40, so that would leave you with 10, which is what you said. Can you expand on your question?
